IEEE 1128
Revision:1998 Edition, 1998 Published Date:June 8, 2012 Status:Active, Most Current Document Language:English Published By:Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Page Count:64 ANSI Approved:No DoD Adopted:No
The purpose of this recommended practice is to recommendrealistic and repeatable criteria, as well as recommended testmethods, to characterize the absorption properties of typicalanechoic chamber linings applied to a metallic surface. Thisrecommended practice covers the parameters and test procedures forthe evaluation of radio-frequency (RF) absorbers to be used forradiated emissions and radiated susceptibility testing ofelectronic products, in the absorber manufacturer and/or absorberuser environment, over the frequency range of 30 MHz to 5 GHz.
The recommended methods approach the RF absorber evaluation atthree levels:
a) RF absorber materials bulk parameters
b) Arrays of commercially available RF absorbers
c) RF absorbers in actual applications, as in anechoic orsemianechoic chambers and lined open-area test sites.
The evaluation measurements can be performed in frequency and/ortime domain. This recommended pratice, however, does not addressthe accuracy and limitations of the different evaluation methods. These issues will be addressed in future revisions of thisrecommended pratice.
